New video card installed and no change noticed due to old software.

Cause:

There are several factors that contribute to good video graphics including the display unit, video card, video driver software and application programs. In this case, older application programs, written to support earlier, less spectacular graphics standards appear the same even though the video system is upgraded. (In other words, the software lags behind the hardware.)

Solution:

Wait for new upgrades to key application programs that are written to support newer high resolution graphics standards.
